Executive Function Coaching for People with Developmental Disorders

Our executive functioning coaching model is a unique form of working with children, teenagers and adults to focus on their social skills, time management, prioritizing, organization, impulse control and other issues that have been associated with teenage development, childhood development, AD/HD, Asbergers, Autism and Prevasive Developmental Disorders. We incorporate our focus on executive functioning, which is the part of the brain the manges our higher end functioning, in all of our coaching models, including those that focus on behavior, mood, cognition and learning.

Research has shown that the executive function of the brain controls and manages other cognitive processes. It is also referred to has the supervisory attention system, cognitive control and the executive system. Executive functioning involves a loosely defined collection of brain processes that are responsible for planning, organizing, time management, cognitive flexibility, abstract thinking, rule acquisition, inhibiting inappropriate behaviors, initiating appropriate behaviors, prioritizing and selecting relevant sensory information.
